Get ready the next round of applications of Horizon Europe Pillar II

From May to November, the AU Research Support Office is holding seven webinars for researchers who want to learn more about the possibilities in Horizon Europe's (HEU’s) Global Challenges programmes (Pillar II). The webinars are aimed at researchers who want to improve their chances of organising a competitive application and researchers who want to be a partner in a collaborative project. The first webinar is 5 May and focuses on how to navigate the upcoming work programmes.

Tech researchers have performed exceptionally well in Horizon Europe, with six coordinator projects and 21 partner projects – primarily in Pillar II, which deals with global challenges and European industrial competitiveness.

"This testifies to the huge efforts by the researchers at Tech and the great potential for us in Horizon Europe. Tech's focus on contributing to digital and green solutions in collaboration with other parties fits in extremely well with Horizon Europe. We know that the competition is fierce and that even high-quality applications are rejected – so I consider unsuccessful applications in this round as an important foundation for future applications," says Research Vice-Dean Brian Vinter.

The Research Support Unit's course of webinars can prepare researchers and help them sharpen their own work on these projects. In the other webinars, participants will gain insight and skills to move on from topic to project idea and to find a strong consortium, specific challenges in process and project management for HEU collaboration projects, as well as important problem areas in actually writing an application. Register by 3 May via this link.

The webinars are for all researchers interested in collaborative projects in Horizon Europe, and they may also be relevant for academic coordinators and centre administrators as well as local managements such as heads of department, research committee members, and group and centre directors. You can sign up for the full course or parts of it, depending on your interest.
