		Targeted energy initiatives have a positive effect at Tech A targeted effort to reduce electricity and heating costs at AU received wide support from the university and Tech itself, where the necessary energy initiatives have already had a positive effect.

		Plant2Food will put Denmark at the forefront in the development of plant-based foods The new collaborative platform, Plant2Food, will speed up the development of plant-based foods. On Plant2Food, researchers and companies will work together to explore complex issues within plant and food science and share new knowledge across sectors – without patenting the results. The Novo Nordisk Foundation will support the platform with up to DKK 200 million over the next five years.

		New rules for time registration on projects to take effect from the new year The senior management team has decided that, from the start of the year, personnel at AU no longer need to register project time unless it is required by external grant givers.

		AU grant fuels entrepreneurial ambition among researchers and students Applications are flooding in for the entrepreneurial grant AU Launch, which is putting an end to a lack of investment for start-ups at Aarhus University. The first round of applications has resulted in a financial boost for seven promising companies.

		Newly qualified doctor aims at a sustainable future for hunting and wildlife management Niels Kanstrup wants to steer hunting and wildlife management towards a sustainable, lead-free future. A 35-year career as an advisor, researcher and active hunter, and a lifelong passion for nature, recently culminated in his defence of his doctoral dissertation at the Department of Ecoscience at Aarhus University.

		Two Tech researchers receive funding for green research from Independent Research Fund Denmark Patrick Biller from the Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering and Dominik Zak from the Department of Ecoscience have just received DKK 2.8 million each for their green research projects. This was confirmed today when Independent Research Fund Denmark (IRFD) announced new grants for 37 green research ideas.

		Aarhus University is number three in Europe at attracting EU research funding Research into greenhouse gases, the resilience of plants, and the restoration of European wetlands are among the 113 projects from Aarhus University that have received funding from the EU research and innovation programme Horizon Europe.

		“Image the impact and think backwards” Lise Lotte Sørensen, senior researcher and head of section at the Department of Environmental Science, is one of the 16 coordinators from Aarhus University who have received a grant from Horizon Europe. The recipe for a successful application is – in addition to a good idea – a sharp focus on long-term impact.
