AU Viborg will be Aarhus University's new integrated campus for research and education. From autumn 2024, researchers at the acclaimed research facilities in Foulum will be joined by students in the fields of veterinary science, agrobiology and animal science. This will provide completely new synergies to drive our joint efforts to find green solutions for the future of agriculture and primary food production with focus on human and animal health and welfare.
Thanks to AU Viborg's unique location near experimental fields, stables and laboratories, from day one, the new students on campus will be surrounded by the fields, animals and plants that will be the subject of their studies. At the same time, prospective students will be able to draw on the knowledge and internationally recognised research embedded in AU Viborg's strong network of researchers with many years of experience within sustainable food production and agriculture.
AU Viborg should provide an environment that encourages students to spend a large part of their day on the new campus. A wide range of collaboration partners are already involved in creating the study environment that, together with world-class degree programmes, will make AU Viborg an attractive place to study. Currently, we are collaborating closely with Viborg Municipality, which, with initiatives such as housing guarantees, is putting action behind the ambition to make Viborg an attractive study and career city.
◾ The students from the three programmes will come to AU Viborg for the first time in autumn 2024.
◾ In the first year, we expect to admit up to 90 students at AU Viborg.
◾ The veterinary medicine programme will be offered in Jutland for the first time.
◾ The ambition is for the fully completed campus to house up to 800-900 students within the next seven years.
