News from Building Services: Everything’s going according to plan, we'll be ready in August

Renovations at AU Viborg are in full swing. And despite the construction chaos surrounding us at the moment, Nat-Tech Building Services isn’t worried: The new facilities will be ready to welcome students in August.

Everything is going according to plan, and the new students on the Animal Science, Plant and Food Science and Veterinary Medicine programmes will be met with good facilities on their first day at AU Viborg. That's the message from Bent Lorenzen, head of Nat-Tech Building Services:

"The renovations at AU Viborg are based on a lot of good input from our user groups, and this helped establish a good foundation for the planning process. Work is progressing according to plan, and we’ll be ready by the start of the autumn semester. We’ll be able to provide our students with a state-of-the-art teaching facility with access to plenty of study spaces, lounge areas, laboratories and classrooms," says Bent Lorenzen, and continues:

"At the start of the semester, we’ll only need buildings 8814, 8841 and 8861, but other buildings will also be ready. However, some buildings, like the gym and horse facilities, won’t be ready until later in the autumn, but this won’t affect our ability to begin teaching."

Many people have had their eyes on building D20 (8850), which has been under a remodelling for some time. D20 will not be used for teaching. Instead, a number of employees will move into the building to free up space for teaching in other buildings. The Danish Building and Property Agency, which is in charge of the renovation, expects D20 to be ready in June. And there's a plan B, a plan C and even a plan D if this proves not to be possible, so classes will be able to get started either way.
