There was a flurry of questions at the various stands during the open house event at AU Viborg last Saturday. The educational booths, as well as those providing study guidance, research information, and details about Viborg as a study city, were all well-visited. Lene Josiasen, the educational advisor at AU Viborg, says:

“Several times throughout the day, the auditorium was also packed. Here the youth could attend presentations on Animal Science, Plant and Food Science, and Veterinary Medicine and meet alumni with similar educational backgrounds,” says Lene Josiasen, continuing:

“Additionally, we had many curious young individuals and their parents participating in tours at the Danish Cattle Research Centre to see the cows, and in workshops at Plant and Food Science. It was delightful to witness their enthusiasm and eagerness when we engaged with them during the day.”

Around 30 employees and students were involved in planning and executing the open house event. According to Lene Josiasen, this internal engagement was crucial in ensuring that the day turned out so well:

“It has been fantastic to see how both colleagues and students were ready to contribute, enlightening our guests about the new study programmes. A big thank you to everyone who participated—I’m confident that our efforts have convinced at least some of the young ones to consider studying at AU Viborg.”

The open house event will be evaluated both internally and externally over the coming weeks. If you have any ideas, thoughts, or reflections you’d like to share before then, feel free to send them to Lene Josiasen via email at lene.josiasen@anivet.au.dk.

The press also covered the event, here you can read one of the articles that came out of it.
