New tool for initial research collaboration

Are you and your colleagues about to start a new external research collaboration? Help is at hand with the new standardised template for a memorandum of understanding, recently launched by the legal advisors at Nat and Tech.

It can save time and provide a better foundation for new external collaborations, as Nat and Tech now have a common standardised template for a memorandum of understanding aimed at new research collaborations. Else Thordahl Meyer, the faculty legal advisor at Tech, explains:

"As legal advisors, we have seen many different versions of memorandums of understanding, and some are definitely better than others. Now we have created a joint Nat and Tech version, so we are sure there are no surprises in the document that could ultimately tie our researchers' hands."

The template is designed so that the researcher only needs to fill in the necessary basic data and briefly describe the purpose and collaboration. If there are any special requests for the content, you should contact the faculty's legal advisors, who will help adjust the text.

"The new template is intended as a tool for self-help. It is ready to use, so our researchers can quickly provide a document that has already been approved by us legal advisors. This can save time and ensure a good foundation for future collaboration, as the common memorandum of understanding reflects mutual respect for both parties' interests," says Else Thordahl Meyer.
