News from Building Services: Status on the user groups and sketches for a study environment

Since spring, three user groups have been developing the frameworks for the study environment that will welcome new students in autumn 2023. The groups’ efforts have now been approved by the steering committee for building services at AU Viborg.

On Monday 26 June, the steering committee for building services at AU Viborg approved the work done by representatives from the academic environments, the student body and Nat-Tech Building Services in the three user groups: dry classrooms, student-initiated activities and wet teaching suites. This means Nat-Tech Building Services have the final go-ahead to begin implementing the plans.

However, more work still lies ahead for the user groups. During the autumn, members of the groups will again be needed when Nat-Tech Building Services begin outfitting the premises with furniture and equipment.

The user group that will work on the special laboratory facilities for the programme in veterinary medicine is also ready to roll their sleeves up.

Sketches for a study environment

As can be seen from the material prepared by the user groups, student life at AU Viborg is structured around what we call study suites. This means we always make sure that there is room for both teaching, self-study, group work and relaxation inside the buildings or in the upcoming courtyards. The study environment will thereby support project-oriented teaching while also accommodating all aspects of student life.
