View from the Outside: Tech Is in a Good Position

Strategically, Tech is in a good position with our focus on contributing to the green and digital transition. That was the overall message from Tech’s advisory board, which visited the faculty this week.

Tech’s advisory board, whose members come from the business world and academia both domestically and internationally, has the task of advising the dean’s office on research, collaboration, education, and talent development based on the external perspectives each member can bring to the table. And this is valuable for an organization like Tech, according to Dean Eskild Holm Nielsen.

"It is very rewarding to have an advisory board that engages with us at a strategic level and assesses how our work can be utilized. We have a great mix of Danish and foreign members on the board, which collectively strengthens our focus on what is important for the rest of society, both nationally and internationally.

Resilient society and the Master’s degree reform were some of the topics that topped the agenda during the advisory board’s visit. A visit that included a tour of AU Viborg and some of the projects related to agriculture and climate that researchers are currently working on.

“The advisory board recognizes that we are strategically well-positioned with our focus on contributing to the green and digital transformation of society. It’s a strong position that we can build upon in almost everything we do. Therefore, they also view our research-based advice very positively, as it contributes to the political decision-making process,” says Eskild Holm Nielsen.
