English version of Plant and Food Science approved

The Ministry of Higher Education and Science has approved that the bachelor's programme in Plant and Food Science can be offered in English. The English version of the programme will not launch before 2026 at the earliest.

Minister for Higher Education and Science, Christina Egelund, has approved an English version of Plant and Food Science. This opens up opportunities for international students at AU Viborg. To allow ample time for preparations, the new programme wil not become a reality until 2026 at the earliest.

"We have applied to offer the English version because we want to expand the recruitment base for the programme, ensuring a larger number of highly educated specialists to meet the sector's needs," says Finn Borchsenius, Tech's Vice-Dean for education. He continues:

"We still firmly believe that there is a need for a programme like Plant and Food Science, as it addresses some of the major challenges we face regarding climate, nature, and food production."

Viborg Stifts Folkeblad has interviewed Head of Department Jørgen Eivind Olesen about the approval of the new programme. Read the article here (in Danish).
