Overleaf
We have updated the TECH AU hosted version of Overleaf and created some new features that you also can find in paid version. Please find documentation on how to do different things on our wiki.
- AU gitlab integration. To ensure better control of your text and projects we have created a integration with AU gitlab.
- Templates, we have created a set of templates for you to use but we have also enabled so you can upload templates for everybody.
- Comments and track changes will be in beta in the fall of 2026.
- Enhanced security and isolation of the users.
- Students are now welcome.
AU Whisper
At beta testing we have created a version of Whisper (speech to text) that runs locally in your browser. We call it AU Whisper. We wanted to create a GDPR compliant solution that ensures all data is kept at your local machine. It does not upload anything, and all is kept inside your browser. We have added a selection of models for you to try out. It works both on laptops and mobile devices. Where it is present (like 90% of all AU laptops and phones (Windows, Max and Linux)) it will use WebGPU to speed up the process. AU Wisper is in beta, and we would really like comments and suggestions about whether this is something you could use in your research.
Log Search
We have created a tool that uses an AI model to search inside log data. This is running fully locally in your browser and, like AU Whisper it does not upload any data anywhere. Depending on the model you choose you will have more or less accurate results from your search. You can import and export your AI for later use and keep it on your laptop. For very large log files upload and add them to your AI model can take some time. We have created a set of CLI tools for you to run it on a command line and then import it into the browser. Again, all is local. The CLI tool is very beta, so please write to us and tell what laptop you are running on so we can provide the tool. We still must test it for AU IT laptops to see if it is allowed to run. This tool is also in beta.
DeiC Compute resource call
Just a reminder that the DeiC call for compute resource for projects that start 1.1.2027 is open and will close 1.8.2026 EOB. In case you want sparring on what to apply for, please reach out to us. Find more information here.
