Implementation of this year's Tech 2030 action plan is well underway under the four strategic focal points that will guide the faculty's development in the years ahead. A new initiative now gives staff across Tech the opportunity to learn more about each other's work through a series of short academic webinars held every fortnight.

"For me, Tech Talks is very much about strengthening connections across the faculty. When we know more about one another, we can begin to build bridges between individual units, departments and disciplines," says Anne Louise Dannesboe Nielsen, Head of the Department of Food Science and a member of the working group focused on fostering an even more collaborative culture at Tech. She continues:

"Tech Talks is also about positive energy. Whatever people choose to talk about, it's always exciting to learn something new."

Tech Talks takes place online and consists of a ten-minute presentation followed by five minutes of questions from the audience. All researchers at the faculty are welcome to contribute and share their knowledge. The only requirement is a willingness to communicate your research to colleagues working in fields very different from your own.

"You cannot reach out to a colleague if you do not know they exist. Through Tech Talks, we are helping to remove one of the barriers to interdisciplinary collaboration within the faculty. Perhaps it will even lead to projects and partnerships that would otherwise never have emerged," says Anne Louise Dannesboe Nielsen.

About the initiative

Tech 2030 is operationalised through four strategic focal points and an annual action plan, which is a key step in turning the Tech 2030 strategy into reality. Four working groups anchored in the faculty leadership continuously work to implement the annual action plan.
