Two new heads of secretariat at AU Viborg
One comes from SEGES, the other from within own ranks. Anivet and Agro have new heads of secretariat who are excited to take on the task at a unique place.
On the first of September, Ida Thoft Jensen had her first day as head of secretariat at the Department of Agroecology. In October, Charlotte Kahlen Steffensen followed suit, starting as head of secretariat at the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences.
Ida Thoft Jensen comes from a position as strategic advisor at SEGES Innovation and is thus a new face at AU Viborg. She is particularly looking forward to diving into the leadership role:
“My great motivation is working with leadership and being able to contribute positively and developmentally to other people. At the same time, I am highly motivated by the vision of contributing to making the world a greener place through the research and development we create here at the department,” says Ida Thoft Jensen, who has a very positive impression of AU Viborg:
“It is inspiring to be around such talented people in such an informal way. There are high ambitions to significantly contribute to the green transition through research, and at the same time, the tone is straightforward and down-to-earth. This gives me peace of mind regarding the task I have been hired for. And I also like the buzz of life with the young people in the corridors.”
Charlotte Kahlen Steffensen started at AU Viborg in 2008 as a PhD partner in the then PhD school SAFE, later moving to Aarhus to the PhD school GSTS. In 2019, she returned to AU Viborg to the department secretariat at Anivet, and in 2022 she became team coordinator and then acting head of secretariat.
“For me, the excitement in the role of head of secretariat lies in planning and coordination and making things succeed. At the same time, it is important for me to make a difference in working with people. Even though it is ‘just’ a job, we should still enjoy it while we do it,” says Charlotte Kahlen Steffensen, continuing:
“I have always enjoyed working at AU, especially here in Foulum, where I have constantly had the opportunity to develop and improve in my job. AU Viborg is a small place, we know each other, everyone is down-to-earth, and we have a good camaraderie. And it is exciting with the new students and everything happening at the department right now. It is super inspiring and great to be a part of.”
